Our first story this term was My Mum and Dad  Make Me Laugh. This has given us the perfect opportunity to learn about ourselves, our families and what we like!   We have developed our understanding of the story through Attention Autism sessions and continuous provision inside and outside the classroom. 

We have been looking at what we look like and have made some amazing self-portraits using clay,  paper plates,  fruit and pizza.  The story is full of different patterns, especially spots and stripes! We have used this to support our early writing  skills  by mark making using  a range of tools.  Dickinson Class have also explored pattern making and  developing their counting skills in Maths by exploring numicon and counting bears. 

At the end of  the story, we were able to celebrate our learning as a whole year group with a spotty and stripy party! We loved making party hats, dressing in our party clothes  and a  special Attention Autism session.
