Term 1 - We're going on a bear hunt
Dickinson Class went on a bear hunt! We have been exploring the story We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen for the past few weeks and using it as the theme throughout our curriculum.
We have loved engaging with a sensory story to help build our understanding of the story and have been amazing at joining in with the repeated refrains and sequencing the story. Through our Attention Autism and Art sessions, we have been creating different scenes, including a big shaving foam snow storm and making mud from cocoa powder. Our Maths have been focussed around numbers this term. We have been ordering numbers on bear prints on our washing line outside and using counting bears to develop our understanding of quantity.
To celebrate the end of the story, we went on a Teddy Bears Picnic with the other Year 1 pupils, eating bear-themed snacks and listening to the story as a group!
