Aspire Primary School

Individual For All, Aspirational For Everyone

DISCOVER Pathway 3

At Aspire, our children learning on Discover Pathway 3 have full access to the   National Curriculum, which allows study at their individual pace and stage of development.

We have developed a curriculum map which shows key drivers for learning across the school at different stages of the year in each class across the pathway.
Our school is organised by pathway rather than year group, so the curriculum map reflects this.  Learning is organised in a learning cycle for children in the  Discover Pathway:
  • EYFS remains a distinct year group and there is a yearly learning cycle
  • Key Stage 1 Discover Classes have a two-year learning cycle
  • Key Stage 2 Discover Classes (except Year 6) have a three-year learning cycle
  • Year 6 remains a distinct year group and has a yearly learning cycle
Please see an example of the Discover Pathway Curriculum Map below.

All subjects within the National Curriculum have a subject leader within school.

Remote Learning

In the event of remote learning being needed for any reason, school will contact parents with a learning offer.  Parents of children in the Discover  Pathway will receive direction  from their class teacher with suggested activities and opportunities for regular check-ins as individuals and as a   family.  If remote learning is required as part of a lockdown or whole class/school closure, there will be an online learning offer with live learning also.  Resources can be provided upon request and if it is safe to do so.
